  • Blue crab can be prepared using different cooking methods depending on the region it is found in. Here are the cooking methods common in some regions:

    1. Mediterranean Style
    • Ingredients: Olive oil, garlic, lemon, tomato, parsley, salt and black pepper.
    • Preparation:
    • Clean the blue crab and wash it thoroughly.
    • Add olive oil to the pot and sauté the garlic.
    • Add chopped tomatoes and fry a little.
    • Add the cleaned blue crabs and add enough water to cover them.
    • Add salt, black pepper and lemon juice, cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
    • Served garnished with parsley.

    2. American (Louisiana) Style
    • Ingredients: Cajun spice, bay leaf, corn cob, potato, sausage, hot pepper.
    • Preparation:
    • Boil water in a large pot and add the Cajun spice mixture.
    • Add potatoes and corn cobs and boil until they become soft.
    • Add blue crabs and sausage and boil for another 10-15 minutes.
    • It is served spicy.

    3. Asian Style (Chinese and Japanese Cuisine)
    • Ingredients: Ginger, soy sauce, garlic, green onion, sesame oil, rice wine.
    • Preparation:
    • Blue crab is cleaned and cut into pieces.
    • Heat sesame oil in a wok pan and sauté ginger and garlic.
    • Add the crabs and sauté on high heat for a few minutes.
    • Add soy sauce, rice wine and some water and close the lid.
    • Cook for 10-15 minutes using the steam cooking method.
    • Served with chopped green onions sprinkled on top.

    4. Caribbean Style
    • Ingredients: Coconut milk, curry, hot pepper, onion, garlic.
    • Preparation:
    • Sauté the onion and garlic in coconut oil.
    • Add coconut milk and curry spices.
    • Add the blue crabs to the pot and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
    • Served with lime juice and cilantro for a tropical taste.

    5. Turkish Style Grill
    • Ingredients: Olive oil, garlic, lemon, red pepper flakes.
    • Preparation:
    • Clean the blue crabs and cut them in half.
    • Marinate with olive oil, lemon juice, crushed garlic and chili pepper.
    • Cook on the grill for 5-6 minutes on each side.
    • Served with fresh bread and salad.
